Safa Al-Khalidi has started as FIME’s research assistant. Safa will be working in the FIME foundation’s office in Helsinki for the next ten months. She will work with Arabic-language sources, contribute to Arabic-language communications, support courses, and help organize community activities such as a language café.
Safa brings to FIME a strong background in enterprise risk management and holds the international certification of ISO 31000 Lead Risk Manager. She is particularly interested in how risk, uncertainty, and resilience shape decision-making in intercultural and policy contexts.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology and has lived in Helsinki for the past eight years. Safa has previously worked as a news assistant for the Wall Street Journal, developing her skills in research, analysis, and international reporting. Beyond her professional background, she is also a yoga teacher, leading classes for Arabic-speaking immigrant women as part of the Suomi–Syyria Ystävyysseura ry’s activities.
At FIME, Safa looks forward to combining her expertise in risk management with her passion for cross-cultural communication and contributing to the foundation’s research and community engagement.
