The Student Union of the University of Helsinki (HYY) awarded the Finnish Institute in the Middle East with a standard at its anniversary celebration on 8 November 2025. HYY awards the standard to a community that has promoted the student union’s values. Awarding the standard is a way of showing appreciation and gratitude, and highlighting organisations that, in HYY’s view, are doing significant public service. FIME was awarded the prize for its work in explaining the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by producing and sharing research-based information to the general public.
