Melammu is an international project that investigates the continuity, transformation, and diffusion of Mesopotamian and Ancient Near Eastern culture from the third millennium BCE through the ancient world until the Islamic times and after. The 11th symposium held in Beirut concentrated on the combined use of Ancient Near Eastern and classical sources. The symposium was organized as a cooperation between the Melammu Project, FIME, and the American University in Beirut (AUB), and it was the first of its kind in the Middle East.
