Location: The Finnish Institute in the Middle East (FIME) in Beirut.
The Finnish Institute in the Middle East (FIME) is an academic institute that focuses on the study of Middle Eastern cultures, religions, societies, as well as classical and modern languages. The institute’s sphere of operations covers the entire Middle East region. In cooperation with various universities, the institute supports Finnish research on the Middle East and offers teaching centered on various relevant topics. It also participates in public discourse carried out in Finland on Middle Eastern issues by providing research-based commentary. Working in FIME offers an excellent vantage point for research on the Middle East in Finland.
The positions are suitable for either postdoctoral researchers or advanced doctoral researchers.
The tasks are varied and demanding, and as such, to succeed in this role, the candidates must have previous experience, that includes but is not limited to:
