The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland has nominated the Foundation of the Finnish Institute in the Middle East (FIME) to continue as the coordinator of the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) Network in Finland for the period of 2019-2020. The aim of the ALF is to join together citizens and civil society organizations from both sides of the Mediterranean and to support the development of civil society. The Foundation works to repel stereotypes and cultural misunderstandings; it supports dialogue and diversity. The ALF headquarters and secretariat are located in Alexandria, Egypt. The Foundation is a network of networks, with over 4000 member organizations in its 42 member countries. FIME has also coordinated the national network of Finland earlier, until April 2018.
