Library services
Finland is known for its extensive network of excellent public libraries. Anyone is allowed to register for his or her own library card. With the library card you are entitled to borrow books, music and videos. You can find materials in several languages, including Arabic. Internet services and reading rooms for perusing newspapers and periodicals are also offered free of charge.
The university libraries are open not only to full-time students, but to anyone over the age of 15. There are many university libraries around the Helsinki metropolitan region with electronic library services to ensure your access to academic articles across the world.
The universities of applied sciences provide library services for their students. The libraries have extensive printed and electronic collections of course books and other materials related to their fields of study.
You will also find information services in libraries. There are computers with network services and printing and photocopying possibilities. In most libraries you also have reading rooms and rooms you can reserve for team work.
