Residence programme

Residences are an important part of FIME´s activities. They offer opportunities for Finnish creative writers and artists to concentrate on artistic work in an inspiring environment, to create networks with local artists and present their own creative work in the Middle East as well as to explore Middle Eastern cultures and everyday life in a more profound way than an occasional traveler.

The first residence writer of The Union of Finnish Writers arrived to the institute in 2009 to be followed by an author sent by The Finnish Association of Non-fiction Writers in 2010. The both associations have sent writers to the institute since then annually.

In 2011 FIME made a contract with Finnish Fund for Art Exchange.
